I can't find a supplier of the bolts for the diff brackets; the long ones that hold the bush end to the chassis...Any ideas?

Thanks in anticipation

If you just measure up the bolt (it will likely be Imperial) there are loads of cheap suppliers on eBay. You can go for high tensile steel if you want. Far more options than if you bought a "TVR" bolt. It's where I bought all the ones for my rebuild although I can't remember the spec of that particular bolt.

They are very rare bolts, need 7.5"long and they are 1/2" UNF. When I did my diff and needed new ones could not find them anywhere, believe they were originally a Land Rover part. Anyway what I did was actually make a couple out of stainless - 13mm bar, turned down to 12.7, tapped one end only 20mm in put nut on, welded nut in place, tapped other end and voila a 7.5" 1/2" UNF bolts. May be the only way to go! Regards, Pete

I use a fasteners place in Loughborough

Charnwood Fasteners
Phone: 01509 237280
Fax: 01509 262428

Sales Email: charnwoodfasteners@btconnect.com
Accounts Email: accounts@charnwoodfasteners.co.uk

Visit: 15 Prince William Road
Loughborough
Leicestershire
LE11 5GU

I used to think they were just another fasteners place until I tried to find some bolts recently, and having visited a place local to where I work I now appreciate how good Charnwood Fasteners are.
It might be worth giving them a call/dropping an email.

I'm regularly in Apex Fasteners and can highly recommend them 1st hand for UNF/UNC, if you're really stuck and Apex have them I don't mind collecting and dropping them in the post to you.

Thanks Steve, and everybody for all the offers of help and info...

I have had two turned down by my machinist, in high tensile steel, with stainless nuts either end; happy days.!!

They are both on eBay and are very good companies not needed to buy these bolts on the griff refurb but bought other unf nuts and bolts from them and very good quick and good value for a specialist fastener
