Coast to Coast - North - Advice
Discussion
Okay so this year instead of the usual foray into Europe in the cars, a few of us are planning to stay home to ride a coast to coast (northern routes) eg Hadrians wall or Workington to Tynemouth.
There is plenty of info on line, however, it would be useful to hear from those who have done this route for hints n tips such as time, kit, bike type etc, best routes & accommodation that may be helpful.
We are seasoned riders & plan to take MTB's in this instance, although many of our bikes no longer have carriers fittings/braze-ons, so we plan to travel light with backpack but at an enjoyable leisurely pace approx. 40 miles per day.
Anything useful appreciated

I did this as a group of 6 a few years ago. St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay over 4 days at a steady pace.
We used a company call Pack Horse. They transport your luggage between the B&B's each day so all we had to carry was what we needed for the day. It meant we could have clothes for the evenings etc without having to worry about the weight.
The B&B's they provided were very good and of course cyclist friendly with secure overnight storage for the bikes.

I'd thoroughly recommend them for this trip.
