'Ol Gasbag' delivered an amazing petrol cost equivalent of 60mpg today!!!
My best result ever, this kind of fuel economy makes a Toyota Prius or even a Golf Diesel look expensive to run
FloGas Leicester are currently selling LPG at an astonishingly low £0.41 a litre
Meanwhile at the local Sainsburys 95 Ron petrol is being sold for £1.05 a litre (its going up again folks)
MATHS TIME
£1.05 / £0.41 = 2.56 x my LPG fuel consumption of 23.6mpg = 60.41mpg petrol cost equivalent
How about that for a practical classic traditional British sports car that gets to 60mph in under 5 seconds and will romp on all the way to 153mph

You've got to ask the question,,, is it possibly the most advanced LPG system on any car anywhere in the world.
And his engine sounds sweet as any,, how many miles now Dave, not that re couping the cost has anything to do with it to me,,, not when it's a Tvr,, just lavish the bd.

d. Dave come on up to the Midlands this Saturday (Shakey) have an LPG fastest time posted up, it'll be there awhile I'd imagine. Be really interesting to see how you go on both fuels,, yep great crac on Sunday and im really glad I went.

Just 6,340 miles to go, I expect to be cost neutral early next year at the latest, after that it's just putting money in my pocket.To be honest the cost element was never the key focus, it was an exercise in showing what can be achieved by eliminating the traditional LPG failings that continue to exist in every conversion to this day.
Its been an interesting journey, I've learnt a lot, it's now delivering better results that all my calculations suggested it should.
It's time to park the development and just enjoy the drivability, performance and economy then look for my next challenge, I just posted this one because it still amuses me that I'd need a petrol car doing 60mpg to offer the same pence per mile as 'Ol Gasbag' gave me today.
When all is said and done this is a TVR so it was essential I retained the TVR characteristics or the whole thing would have been pointless, as it turns out the car is now way smoother and faster on gas that it ever was burning straight petrol on the Lucas 14CUX and distributor.
All this talk of 60mpg is one thing but it's the drive back from Burghley sticks in my memory, the pace got turned up to 11 and 'Ol Gasbag' bravely held off all contenders including a Tuscan 2 while happily sniffing gas.
I tend to think I'm justified in calling the project a success
