Any Share brokers out there?

I hope there may be some share peeps that can help me here? Long story short my Father has been approached by a company to purchase some old shares in a Company he purchased back in 2002, supposedly they are organising a takeover of the Company for a third party. My question is has anyone heard of this Company that I trying to purchase the shares? Watter and Partners Ltd, they have a website www.wattersandpartners.com something just does't ring true for me? Website looks a bit poor and I can't find anything much on them doing a google search.

Yes, I did look that up, I thought it was weird being a LTD company with a New York address and nothing else
