Porsche knows how to cater to its target audience. I particularly enjoy the new style phone charger.

Is this what Porsche has become? After watching a good part of this video I'm almost wondering if this could be viral marketing for Lotus et al. At one part she switched to Sport Plus, the car went into manual mode and she got visibly tense and stressed out because she has no idea how to shift with the paddles.
The way the video is cut there makes me think she bounced it against the limiter a few times. (10:25 onwards)
One for all manual/naturally aspirated PH fanatics — this is the (sad) reality.
Thanks so much for starting this thread - I haven't laughed so much in ages - it's hilarious - I love the bit where she points out that there is space in the back for "kids or something" - classic . In fact that's nearly as good as she bit when she gets in the passenger seat and does the whole pouty stare thing. I especially enjoyed how she's holding the steering wheel !

Goodness me. I know I must sound so out of touch, and I said something similar when I was directed to a film on a thread in the McLaren forum, but just who are these people? How? Why? What?
I don't understand anything anymore.
those were pretty much my thoughts after the first 30 sec .... then I fast forwarded a little and watched another segment. then I gave up I don't understand anything anymore.
I think I saw a Miami blue car in the distance today - looked pretty striking on a grey/rainy day
I'm 34, so I'm probably not too young for this type of c**p. And yet, my corneas are irreparably seared and my eardrums still ringing after that display of shameless stupidity. An ipecac cleanse couldn't get the bad aftertaste out of my mouth.
It genuinely made me question my choice of car for a few minutes.

Hi Cmoose,Well, manufacturers like Ferrari (and I am certain Porsche) are very keen that a) only the 'correct' media has access to their cars, ie. it's a privilege that been granted by the manufacturer, so they can take it away again and b) the road test cars are to EXACTLY the specification and condition they want the press to write about. So loads of extras, freshly serviced, new tyres, brand-new un-kerbed wheels, no faults, no warning lights or service lights, full tank of fuel, clean interior. The last thing they want is either a proper journo taking a duff, poorly prepared car out for a spin and pronouncing it 'rubbish', or - and this is the perfect example - some total no-hoper behind the wheel of a model of car with an image carefully spun over the decades of 'Le Mans', 'the ultimate driving experience' and 'sheer unadulterated performance'.
Both the journalists and official main dealers know it's out of bounds for franchised dealers, and both have much to lose. You might get a franchised letting a journo have a go in an older model (say a Testarossa) or as part of a pre-arranged feature on official pre-owned. Flashy non-franchise dealers can do what they like. Ditto, classic specialists.
What impression do we get from this video? Certainly, the presenter is pretty rubbish, but also it raises the subliminal question: "Do I want to buy a car that complete berks like this clearly want to own?" It's the latter that the manufacturers go to great lengths to avoid.
