Sneaky gear stick knob guidance

over the years I've learnt that the only way to keep me happy in the gear change department is to have a good non swivelling, un-loose gearstick.

i'd like an aluminium one with a M10 x 1.5 thread OR a classic 4 speed black plastic one / 8-ball with a metal insert for 'another car'.

any guidance please, not involving a mortgage.

I fitted one of these (with the correct era badge) it didn't come threaded and fealt a little light so I drilled and tapped it and then fitted with some PTFE tape and I'm pleased with it, feels solid in your hand and hasn't come loose so far.

He also has other types including aluminium which I guess will be similar quality.

no glen, they are 6J, could do with a bit more clearance at the front and bit more width at the back...

apparently i can get the clearance with scaffold pole of magazines?
