over the last few weeks. the coolant warning has been popping on.
ive been topping it up but I need to find time to look into this.
is there any common places to look at. ill have to get it on ramps and give it a good look over.

Change the rad cap - a common source of coolant loss

I think you have a Monaro from previous posts , if it's the older Monaro check either end of the radiator they tend to crack , if it's a newer Monaro try the cap as above , rads are not cheap but are easy to change , monkfish probably best place for parts

Ok have had coolant loss issues with mine

1st time coolant was leaking just in front of the passenger front wheel which was the radiator cap
2nd time was drivers side which was the radiator cracked down one side.

Hope that helps

Had this on mine too. Had the rad go which was obviously but latterly the hose from the thermostat housing to the lower rail was split so changed that and all was fine.

If it is the rad , which I'm thinking it maybe , not teaching to suck eggs but do both rad hoses too

ls1 monaro would suggest that you don't actually have a radiator cap - you just have a cap on the expansion bottle?
Had the same slow coolant loss on my 04 - rad was leaking at the bottom passenger side.
Changed it for a mishimoto unit from the fish. It's cheaper than a GM OEM replacement, and way better quality. Bigger coolant capacity means it takes a little longer for the car to warm up from cold. It's a DIY job if you are handy with the spanners.
