Been up all night with my son's croupe
Discussion
Started last night about 8.30 and we've been up every 1-1/2 hours since. The sound of his coughing is very dramatic, likened to a sealion. I must of run 4 baths, and filled the sink in the bathroom up with steaming kettles.
I had tickets to go to the Carling Cup final tomorrow, just had to give them away this afternoon.
I've just re-read the heading and it looks like i've been working on his coupe all night, wonder which one he'd get !!
Sorry rambeling now as i pretty wacked now.
We are taking it in turns to grab some sleep as he is waking every couple of hours with that cough, I don't know how this happened but my turn is next tuesday.

Still up as he's been really unsettled all day,
I'm beginging to see things now i'm so tired, could do with a good 8 hours sleep now, but i can hear him now. it's such a dramatic sound. poor little boy.
It's going to be a long night !!
Know what you mean it's a nightmare. I've got four, and the youngest is seven so those years are behind us. The loss of slepp is horrific. Like you we took it in turns. Imagine what it must be like for a single parent. Such people have my total respect.
From loads of experience, croupe lasts 3 nights, with the middle night being the worst. We found with JuniorRotty mk2 that cool/cold night air seemed to ease it. MrRotty often took him out for a blatt in the Coupe at 3am with the windows down. Fine in the summer, but not two days after Xmas!
They grow out of it after a while, but that's no consolation at 3am with a distressed child.
Try your GP for a decongestant - my sister is a nurse and recommends it - she also says to avoid Nurofen for Kids as this can increase phlegm production...

how very not nice for the little one......
Now you know why they use sleep deprivation as a form of torture.
My daughter never slept for more than two hours at a time night or day.
