Hi all,

So, you're probably thinking "this is like the 100th question on here about the V12 tick!" Yes I know it's been talked about many times but after scouring over threads for the last week or so I still have some questions.

It's been said that the Vanquish S had an uprated oil pump from the standard Vank and the S doesn't have the tick. The part number for the Vanquish oil pump is the same as the DB7 Vantage. Has anyone installed a Vanquish S pump in a DB7 or Vanquish? If the uprated pump can be installed in the standard Vank it makes sense that it could fit in the DB7 too. If so, did it correct the tick? Also, did it fit well or were there adjustments/modifications needed to install?

I've also read that later DB9 engines did not have the tick. Do you think this is due to the idle oil pressure as well? Would a late DB9 oil filter fit in a 7?

Is the oil pump change out an intensive job? If so, anything else you recommend be done at the same time?

Thanks guys!

Oil pump change is front cover off which means engine removal.

Oil pump has nothing whatsoever to do with the dreaded tick, thinking so is barking up wrong tree

Dreaded tick is piston slap in oval bore or small end bush wear
