On a banner with front page visibility is a eBay trading assistant service for a smallish private seller, I am not promoting who it is so if your interested have a look on eBay but seasoned ebayers will maybe find it interesting watching how this "trial" goes.

How it can possibly succeed is beyond me, they want 30% of end price but dont detail what happens with paypal claims, redeliveries, INAD etc etc so many holes in it. I ran an experian on them and its a small time operation so how hey convinced eBay to run a front page banner is anyones guess (£).

Anyone have a view ?

might just be your front page. I'm seeing a sea-based finance company advertising on eBay right now.

I see physical popup shops offering this sort of service from time to time. Indeed there's one just up the road at the moment - never see anyone in it and I know how much those shops cost in terms of rent etc.

I just don't see the time spent vs commission working, even with shocking rates of commission being charged. And how many people can't sort out their own listing (even if badly) - not enough to make it worthwhile.

Makes me wonder if they're the new 'tanning salons'...

But to advertise it online - sounds like someone's seen the shops and though "if they're doing it, it must be a great way to make money - I know, let's start our own business!"
