I have a Tamron 15/30 2.8 on my D750 but have been offered a 14-24 Nikon at a very good price - I've done some looking and can't decide whether it's worth a swap or should I stick with the Tammy. My couple of small issues with the Tamron are a bit of coma on star shots and some pretty horrible distortion at 15mm - which mainly isn't noticed but after shooting a lighthouse this last few days I was kinda upset with it .

My google findings seem to tell me the Nikon doesn't distort as much and or the LR profiles does a better fix and it seems to be pretty much similar coma wise. Part of me is tempted to give in to Samyang or wait for this Irix for the night shots and just man up about the distortion.

Anyone used both and can offer some advice ?

I don't have the 14-24 but seem to recall it's fairly legendary - so if you can get one for not too much you're unlikely to be disappointed. It's one of the 'holy trinity' with the 24-70 and 70-200.

Why would you want to swap the Tamron with the Nikon?
To start with, the Tamron is the bettet glass, it also has vc, a big plus on that lens compared to the Nikon. In pretty much every review the Tamron comes out top over the Nikon, and its taken something like 7 years for any lens manufacturer to knock the 14-24 off that spot, but the Tamron did it.

I did a lot of research before buying either the Nikon or Tamron, I have not regretted it one bit smile
