can anyone give some advice?
my sister runs the uk branch of a small business whose data/customer management is currently run with a monumental list of customers in outlook.
obviously this is no good so what she wants is a user friendly tool to manage the data and also run simple queries. "customers who have bought x product" "customers with orders over x" etc.
my current best guess is an excel database with an access front end.
however, the thought occurs that there may well be some pretty snazzy software kicking around that will do this for her even easier (and without knowing SQL and/or VB)
my knowledge of this kind of thing is a little outdated though, can anyone suggest a piece of software that will do the job ?
TIA

Depending on the size of it you could put it all in Excel spreader and use drop down filters on columns. Pretty simple to do and Excel has AutoFilters that will do it all for you(probly). I'd try that first as you can always import into Access if it don't work.

If not put it into an Access database, create some Forms and you can set filters etc within it.

New version of ACT runs via a SQL backend and has some of the very stuff you might be looking for. We have not tried it yet, but it is on my "to do" list...
