350i passed MOT today. Only advisory was slight play in rear offside wheel bearing. Nearside was changed for last year's test so no surprise. Another year of Wedgeship. smile

once they get too much play they can destroy themselves very quickly, so best get it done asap if there play in the bearing, but the rear does have quite a bit of play even when everything is new, so may not be the bearing.

Yeah could be the outer UJ - you can get similar symptoms.

Great result Keith, my Wedge recently flew through an MOT with no advisories despite being off the road for a long time, wedges are clearly very reliable motors!. I also have an OSR wheel bearing issue I think, got a vibration from that corner, seems to a common issue..

Sturdy they are, reliable maybe not always! The nearside bearing was shot last year and the offside does appear to be somewhat old so at some point in the near future I'll have a good prod and a poke to see if it is bearing or UJ. There's no vibration, no tyre wear and no noise from it and it goes ever so well around corners. Still - very happy that it passed the test as I have a busy weekend of driving planned for it. Cheers.

They can be a pain to get out, but I have a 25 ton press, and not too far from you wink
Essex is a bloody long way from Herefordshire but thanks anyway. My local garage changed the last one for £40 last year and they have a suitable press so I'll buy the bearing and seals off RT Racing and let them sort it. Thanks again.
