Hi all

I've just finished giving the car a good polish for the summer, which has caused me to re-notice a few small details I want to change. Things that used to annoy me before I got used to them...!

First is my rear number plate has been rather inexpertly chopped down to fit the appature. I've looked to see if you can get custom sized ones made up (show plates etc) in the right size (500mm wide) but it seems not. How have others gone about this? My concern is if I buy a new plate and cut it down, the vinyl sheet on the back that carries the actual text will ruck up and look horrible.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Just make a template in card and cut the new plate to suit.
used a router before but this was done with a sander

when I purchased mine from a 'show plate' maker I asked if he could make it 20mm smaller and he said no problem.

I just chopped it with a cutting blade in an angle grinder.

Thanks for the feedback chaps. I'll see if I can speak to someone about a show plate in the right size. Otherwise, laziness permitting, I'll cut one down...!
