Do these knobwits ever really ask people what they want in car?
Or make just make stuff up and pretend people really want it?

"dynamics, design, quality and presence....."

Just to clarify:

Marketing people ask people who pretend they know what they want

Product planning pretend that people want these things

engineers pretend they know how to make the above things happen.....or they are knobwits.....or both.

Accounting people pretend they have no money for such things

designers try and make all of these things look like a TVR

There is a rule of thumb here too: the greater the ratio between the above departments and design in terms of number of Knobwits, the more bland the car becomes. eg: TVR- not many engineers, accountants or markting types. V. Opel. 10's of thousands of them, and about 40 designers.....
