Hi All,
V8 Vantage
So today the nearside front indicator has decided to stop working.
Is there anything I can check first before a new headlamp unit is replaced? Wiggle a wire or check a connection? Im sure half the dam car will have to be stripped down to get at anything?? Surley these can be repaired?????
Need some help here please as this is getting silly with the costs at present, love the car but things like this are letting it down

Many thanks for any help

Replace the bulb? I assume you have already tried that?

They are LEDs and are a sealed unit. The rear indicators failed on my rear light unit and I had to replace the whole unit.

OP, the LED strip lights are a known issue, expect around £1500 fitted.

Glad my oldskool DB9 has normal bulbs then. I assumed it was only the DRL's in the front that were LED's.

Good to see a bulb design sold as supposedly lasting a lifetime failing regularly and earning the manufacturer £1500.00 a time instead of a fiver at your local car spares shop. Thats progress. Actually, thats taking the piss!

do these units have intermitent problems? Will it work one day and not the next?

Or is it just an AM thing??

I had the same issue with my rears. Had the warning one day then went away, then a few weeks later it came back.

Yes. I bought a 2nd hand unit off eBay for £200 and fitted it within half an hour or so. The fronts are a lot more difficult I'm afraid, or so I've been told.

One of the ones I've replaced did just that before finally giving up the ghost within a few weeks.
