Having the monster KD75XD9405BU Sony wall mounted but was not sure on best height. With the centre of the screen at my eye level (when seated) the TV seems to be too low at 45"' from floor level. Any ideas chaps? Is this just a personal preference thingy or is there an optimum calculated height?

Ideally, you should never have to look up at a screen. Bad for neck and eye strain. Given the outlay you need to get it right! smile

How far away is the screen? As you suggest centre of screen should ideally be at eye level for optimal comfort. You may get away with the bottom of screen at eye level but not ideal. You'll get used to the aesthetics of it unless it is screwing with your furnishing / SWMBO aesthetics etc.

Bottom of the screen at eye level for me, I prefer to look slightly up, stops my neck aching.

This question gets asked a lot. There is a reason all TV cabinets are roughly the same height! You basically should install it at a comfortable height. I never quite understand how over the fireplace seems like a good idea.

If you mount it slightly higher make sure you get a tilting wall bracket.

Depending on the location of the inputs you may need to space off the brackets. Make sure you have mates around to lift it. It's a different thing trying to locate an already heavy tv and plug it in.
