Used 996 GT3.2 suspension - what do to?
Discussion
Hi all. Advice needed.
I have just upgraded the standard suspension on my 6.2 to KW 3 way adjustable clubsport spec.
In the new KW box I now have all the old kit that came off the car - so the original bilstein dampers, springs and top mounts (these are actually >2 yr old new OEM replacements).
What is the general consensus on this - should I keep these as spare parts just to have, should I have them refurbished and keep just in case, or should I maybe look to just sell the set as is (it would certainly help offset some of the cost of the KW's!).
I have no intention of ever selling the car btw.
I'd be interested to know what, as fellow enthusiasts, you guys would do?

A while ago I was considering buying GT3 suspension for my C2 but, despite emailing a couple of folks on here, never went for it. Probably would've if I was offered a set for £400, however. Not that my story really helps you, but I'd say that if you're never selling the car (so never have to return to stock), there's a market out there for these things.
You may decide the KWs are not to your taste so it's worth hanging on to the original suspension until you're absolutely sure you won't want to revert to it (refurbished) at some point.
If you're in it for the really long term, it means you have something to sit the car on when you get the KWs refurbished.

I don't get this, you've replaced 10 year old technology with new as you obviously want to drive it rather than keep it in a glass bubble. Sell the old stuff to someone who wants a garage queen, free up the garage space for tyres and use the money for fuel and fun, summer is coming... After all, who ever buys the car in the future won't care at all about the OEM as they all need 10k spent on them anyway...
Ditto: I have just fitted Ohilns R&T to my 6.2 GT3 CS and I have the OEM parts in sealed bags in the Ohlins box. Even worse as I had new OEM front struts fitted and 70 miles later took them off for the upgrade to Ohlins. So my fronts are practically new and the rears were fine anyway. I couldn't decide what to do either so I just kept them.

Well I have to say I am not really sure I understand half of these replies, I thought I had posted on a car enthusiasts website not pistonbay.com
Not really sure what you are driving at. Maybe you do not realise that as these cars get older the buyers market changes to those that want everything as it was out of the tin. You say you will be keeping her but you may chnage your mind if you lose your legs/ have children/ move house. I would also keep them and get them refurbished in time for either selling or sticking back on should you decide to move on to something else.I have Ohlins on at the moment and the OEM Bilsteins awaiting a refurb as well as KW Clubsports also awaiting refurb and fitting.
