sorry if any of this is covering old ground.

I have had a crack at replacing these once before. I encountered the sockets for the replacements being completely different to the original square units. I could have replaced the connectors on the car for smaller ones to try and fit the new units but I also had to start filing down the new units to fit the bodywork etc etc.

Are there no replacement repeaters that will just wire straight up and slot into the bodywork without all this effort!?

I have just bought some clear ford 'go faster' side repeaters and they look so much smarter than the originals.Made by mhw car dynamics and cost £15 a pair and are available from A1 motorist shops and like I say, just popped straight in the hole.

justin - are you saying th erepeaters are from a Mk4 escort then? i originally bouhgt oval ones for a Mk4 and they had these weird connections and were too big for the wholes in the fibreglass!

might give somewhere else another go if they ar estraight from an escort though!

Yes,they seem to be the same.Shame I ripped of the plastic bag and chucked it away.Could have had a part number.I seemed to have only a problem digging the old split ones out.I suppose if the connectors are different, you could crimp new ones on,although I did think the cable was very short on mine. The Web site for the bits should be on
www.a1motorstores.co.uk
So have a nose through.99% of the stuff is Max Muppet gear,so you can have a laugh at the same time.
