Well dropped the Chimaera off at Leven on Wednesday night and picked up the courtesy diesel Polo (good timing on the weather ). Picked the car up on Friday evening... and been for a blat today. Wow.

Had the 12k service done, the sump dropped, cleaned and re-sealed to get rid of a small leak... a small powersteering leak, a wiper clunk, the drive shaft gaiters done, a whole host of ignition bits, some lovely colour coded badges and a gear lever surround.

Bill was big as a result, but the car was clean and shiny and looked a million dollars.

Dan had a chat and said he'd tinkered with the timing and was happier that it was now running better... he seemed happy, so why shouldn't I..?

Even on the drive home the difference was noticeable.. pulled so much harder and smoother, sits in traffic more comfortably, and is generally a better drive. Gearbox fluid change has made it slightly lighter, and all in all I can't believe the difference. Very happy Pod.

So big thanks to Dan, Simon and Jules... really pleased with the car, she's now as I want it... see you in 6000 miles!

Right, I'm off to eat beans on toast for the next two months...

You'll never drown out the sound of the engine though

Dunno... I'll see if I can make the drivers seat a musical instrument...
