Hello,
laid up with a knee issue for a while so looking to have a go at gaming so installed Steam but now i just need a real beginners game. Any recommendations really do not mind what genre as long as it is easy to learn for my first steps?

No idea at all what you're into? Shooters? Strategy? RPG?

Go to twitch.tv and flick through some channels and watch some gameplay if you're completely stuck for ideas. See what you fancy.

Rise of the Tomb Raider if your PC can handle it. It's most enjoyable.

if you're into your FPS team deathmatch games then get quake live, it's not on steam cos it's free. entirely online.

also as you're on steam get Rocket League. simple but addictive game. even if you don't like football/football games (and I don't) you will love it.

you need something with an engine, but nice and slow so you don't get excited and bend your busted knee...

If you really can't hide that embarassment from your partner/friends then get Dirt Rally - it's proper hard. Also Driver San Francisco is a fun (if short) game with lots of cars and sliding around.

I got Hitman Absolution recently and it's hard but fun, though you will have to concentrate. Metal Gear Solid V and Just Cause 3 are good shooters if you wanted. MGS will take your life and JC3 is quite short but alot of fun so long as you can keep thinking up new and imaginative ways of killing people and buildings with red on them!
