Have we not already had Mothersday?

[R1 Indy]

Just going through todays email/junk, and this advert has me a little confused?

Did we not have Mothersday last month? Or am i missing something?

[randlemarcus]

The word Mom gives it away. Different date in the US

[AlexHat]

Americans have it on a different day, hence the Mom?

[ali_kat]

The UK has had Mothering Sunday

Them there Americans have yet to have Mother's Day

[Your Dad]

[iphonedyou]

Jesus.

[R1 Indy]

Oh

[C0ffin D0dger]

We've got the same Hallmark day for Dad's though.

Mothering Sunday is celebrated by the Christian church in most of Europe on fourth Sunday in Lent / exactly three weeks before Easter.

The Yanks presumably didn't adopt this in their version of Christianity so instead invented their own day - Mother's Day.
