When I was going to put it back up, was told they would take legal action as it some of it was copyrighted, so I'd check to see if he still has the same attitude.
I'd like to see them take legal action, I wrote some of it and it's been up on my own site for longer than wedgepages was active. If its a problem I'll just start from scratch
using the original authors and im sure we could get some new articles.
is mike still around anywhere.
TBF its almost as much work to take the old content and bung it into a new cms as is it is to start from nothing.
A lot of the stuff is in the archives but a lot of the pictures are missing.
Its going to need a different URL anyway. as ownership of the current one looks interesting and renewed last year

The future has no effect on the past or present...Well at least while its the present so that there is a future and past reference point to work to from...(I have to be careful not to get too deep here )..Actually...
...The present evolves into the future rendering it the past....So the past is the future that is ......Sorry.
Right basically i think we need somethings to be new...Wedg1e knows what I'm talking about but don't say anything yet Ian....
The info could do with a revision...Bit like a new testament...
I have some ideas on how this would work better, Especially for the future custodians of these rare beast's...Lets face it no-one has thought about that part of it....
And the Wedge Gods said..."Let there be a gathering"..."Food for feast"...."From fuel to fire"..."Man and beast"....Doh sorry done it again.....
So yeah....Do it......I will help if i can.

So out of interest, if i did something either with the old content or from scratch whose up for authoring something...
I'm not in the same league as Mark, Ian, Leigh, Adam, Glen etc with the "hands on" but would be happy to contribute where I can with the work I've done or doing on my two Wedges. Cheers.Im talking to Steve First as the last custodian, to see where we can start from.
Im happy to set something up and host on one of our servers. As long as im happy that i can find enough interested people to create and add content.
it will be hosted in a modern content management system, so will be much easier for authorised people to addd new content.
I've got a couple of ideas on a new URL if needed but happy to take suggestions

Sounds like a great idea...There is so much up-to-date info that is invaluable to Wedge owners..There is also some really well documented and professionally recorded data surrounding the maintenance and re-engineering of parts for these cars as well as part numbers and modern equivalents ..Ideally the info submitted should be from enthusiast to enthusiasts. There are a fair amount of restorations/Upgrades that have been carried out by the owners own hand that are a worthy read...People who sit on their backside paying someone else to do all the work is a waste of reading space....No disrespect but it really is!.
We don't need boring stories of how people go to the ends of the earth just to get a bit of rubber when its widely available ...We DO need listed reputable suppliers of parts like RTR...ML Performance....ACT products...Hopefully TVR parts ltd when they sort their stock out....Links also to credible Wedge specialists are a must.
We should also be able to name and shame as to help others avoid bad experiences.
TVR is roaring back.....New TVR...New page of history.
Viva la Wedge ..Viva la TVR

Aye I'm in.
As there are differing degrees of spannering ability amongst owners as well as varying sizes of toolkit I could see scope for a range of DIY topics. I suspect that there are a good few owners who like me don't like to pay others for work they can do themselves so perhaps a breakdown of what tools are needed for certain tasks (e.g. dropping the rear suspension/diff, overhauling brakes etc.) so that guys who want to have a crack but don't want to have to buy the contents of Halfords first could just source exactly what they need, maybe used spanners from Ebay or whatever.
Wedges aren't complicated, they can be fiddly to work on but they are well within the capabilities of a DIY mechanic and as I always say, it takes 90% of the effort used to do a bad job to do it properly and maybe if there was more 'properly' then the cars would be moving away from the bargain basement they've been sliding towards for the last 20 years - I bet we all have horror stories of what we've found perpetrated (often by so-called professionals, too).
Even, and I know some will laugh at this, how about articles on how to use tools properly to start with... what's the reasoning behind Philips and Pozidriv screwdrivers? Why shouldn't you use a torque wrench as a cracking bar? Should you grease stainless steel bolts? Benefits of CuNiFe over Cu brake lines?
And then the biggie... if you leave aside personal taste there are any amount of modifications that could be done, from MX5 seats to different engines. Perhaps photo essays of what's involved might inspire/deter others.
Food for thought... but I'm out of lunch break so I'll pass it on
