Valve clearance on tvr 3000m
Sunday 27th February 2005
Just going to giving my valve clearances a check and have found that some ford manuals for the v6 3.0 say check clearances hot (autobooks) some say cold (haynes).
I would rather check them cold, If so what are the clearances.
Many Thanks

Doesn't this depend on your camshaft type?

Should always be set cold, but yes, varies with the cam. I use 16 thou for both inlet and exhaust with a 290 cam.
It's not especially quiet, but then that's not the object of the exercise.

Mine has a standard cam and I set mine cold. 0.012 Inlet and 0.020 Exhaust.
