According to UK gov stats for 2015 new registrations, Aston Martin had a good year in 2015 in the UK - total new registrations were over 1,100 units, the best since 2010.

DB9 sales were the highest since 2009 (230 units - showing good demand for the run-out) V8V (incl. N430) nearly 300 and Vanquish also over 200.

Edited after OP data correction: So then the fact there is little growth in V12V sales goes AGAINST the view that "automatics" were needed to increase the appeal?

Very interesting to see that there are almost as many new V12 Vantages sold as V8 Vantages now. I'm struggling to believe that to be honest, but not doubting the stats either...

Oops! - your doubts are correct - N430s were wrongly included with V12s, so they are now with V8s. Sorry! banghead

Now corrected above - V12Vs were just 109.

See Table VEH0160 at www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/all-ve... for the data.

Thank you Philip, a good find.
The data probably all originates from the DVLA, but being in spreadsheet form, it is much easier to use that the 'howmanyleft' website.
Your bar chart certainly makes this data easy to understand.

I have compiled some overall production data going back to 1973.
Fewer than 100 cars were built in 1975, 1992 and 1993. Those last two years were during Ford ownership (they bought in 1989), but the production figures went into the six hundreds following the DB7 launch in 1994.

Remember as well that in 1975 the company was bankrupt with no ownership. In 1992/3 they were owned and survived...just. it was a very close thing, and thanjs to Ford they did

The SMMT is also a good source of data regarding car registrations, if not build numbers

1100 registered just in 2015? Still plenty of potential then for more sign-ups for Burghley wink
