You'll have to assess what's important to you?
The C4S is £5k more but come resale it'll still be worth more than the C2S, not just because it is a C4S and they are worth a little more but because this particular car is and always be 2 years younger than than the C2S you are comparing it too.
So the £5k difference now may turn out to be just a £1or2k difference when it's time to move on.
Man maths or just the long view you decide but it may make the decision to opt for that wide body and it's all weather sure footedness a little simpler.

Personally I'd go for the £25k optiIon or (and this would be my first choice if looking at a 911 around the £30k mark) this one:

I know it's not a C4S, but at £30k you are getting within spitting distance of a gen 2, 997.2, which would give you a lot less worry about potential big bills. Keep an eye out for others and haggle hard and I don't think you'd be too far off that £30k budget for a gen 2.
Feel free to ignore all of that though, it's just what I'd do with your budget

Are they both manuals or both tiptronics? I'd be looking for a manual C2 997.1 unless you want to stretch to a 2009 997.2 with PDK. Either way, it's a Porsche so youn need to buy on the basis of condition, history and inspection. And I suppose the older one will leave you with a 5k fighting fund in the event the worst should happen.
