Hi All

In an attempt to reduce the amount of wind noise coming form the windows I have ordered some new rubber seal TVR U1407 - Seal drop glass front. Can anyine help with what bonding agent I should use, to make the rubber adhere to the car.

Shouldn't be held on with adhesive. There should be a plastic strip inside the seal with rivets or plastic push pins holding it in. At least thats how my '96 is built.

Is it the same as the door seal then?

Nope, the door seals just push on.

This is the second seal that just goes around the end and over the top of the door glass. It is held in with "speed clips" which are barbed plastic fittings that you tap into holes in the body work to hold the seal in place. As said they go through a plastic strip that is inserted in the middle of the seal (cut the new seal open with a razor blade or similar on the hidden edge).

You need punch holes the seal carefully in terms of how far from the hole is from the edge of the trim so it lines up with the body work (use the old seal for a reference) and also to ensure the holes line up with the spacing dictated by the plastic strip. I used a belt hole punch and some chalk and quite a few hours to get it right. I was lucky enough to have a friend help me fit the car up and that also took a few hours (freshly painted car, so being very careful). The shaft from a small hammer with the head removed proved to be the best tool for tapping things home.
