Is it right that I am unreasonably excited by this. Is there any game-play footage about? Hopefully it will be closer to the awesomeness of Dawn of War and less like DoW 2 which wasn't quite as good.

Also am I the only one who thinks DoW should offer epic scale game play with armies of hundreds\thousands rather than just concentrating on squad level stuff. If they could do both it would be even better.

I see the PC Gamer article says it's got the larger numbers of units and base-building back from DOW-1 which is promising. I loved 1 and all of it's expansions, but never got into number 2 whatsoever after they switched it to small numbers of unit-based stuff.

Looking forward to seeing more news on this!

Just read that article too

It's sounding pretty good. Looks like they are taking the best bits from 1 & 2. bounce

I also hopr its more like 1. 2 was ok, but nothing special. Winter Assault for 1 though was fantastic.

I am not sure about the cartoony colourful look. 40k is all about grim dark!

However I am very excited smile

Very much looking forward to this, loved DOW 1 and 2 had some good story bits.

Base building back is good to hear, and including knights into the mix could make for some fun strategies.

However i am most excited about a strong single player story based campaign, oh how i miss them smile

They are Knights not Titan's wink

Ork Stompa's, Eldar Wraith Knights, and Imperial Knights.

Although with Titan's the game would be even more epic! (Although I do remember the turn based game they did with Titan's way back)

What's one of them then?

I've read dozens of 40k novels and they've never appeared once - hence my mistake. Do they originate from the boardgame?

Awesome, not read a 40k book for a while and it will be change from all the other races, chapters, groups, etc.

Many thanks. I like Graham McNeils writing too.

Just reminds me how much it irritates that they firewall their products from Amazon. I hate having to faff with physical connections to download black Library books!

There is also a great fun little free to play game on the App Store called 'Freeblade'

Simple control of weapons (your knight follows a prescribed 'patrol') but still a good diversion
