'First Comment'
Discussion
I'm seeing this more often on various Instagram accounts where someone will just put 'First Comment' on some post just so that they can be recognised as having the, err, first comment.
I really don't get the point of this. Am I missing something? Do you get special internet points for being the first person to comment on someone's picture even if you don't actually leave a comment actually relating to it? or is it something the 'kidz' do these days?
/confused.

To answer OP seriously, this has been going for at least 5 years often on YouTube videos and other similar content.
So nothing new, but in decline from what I see. Although I see from Facebook that people often seem to screenshot them getting the first 'like', which like commenting 'first' is pretty special...

Seems to be seen as some kind of claim to fame.
In future generations the stories told to children of their grandfathers fought in WW2, etc will now be replaced with stories of how their grandfather got the first like/comment on a picture of Dan Bilzerian having a gang bang whilst firing an AK47 into the air.
Pretty sad really.
