carbon frame split

looking for some advice guys

I have a Focus Izalco TEAM SL4.0 purchased June 2014

I have completed about 1000miles on the bike over the course of the 1st years ownership, since july 15 the bike has been on the bike rack in the garage and has not been used, I moved house in January and at the new house the bike was placed back on the rack in the new garage

I took the bike off the wall the other week and found one of the rear frame legs cracked between the crank and the rear cassette

the frame has 5 yr warranty however Focus are not going to replace it, they have said this is impact damage which is not covered but have offered a new Izalco max zero frame & fork for £715

is this a good offer? should I push focus to honour the repair? or should I have it repaired at probably a fraction of the cost?

The Izalco MAX is an upgrade from what you have now and a very light/expensive frame.
£715 for a replacement seems very reasonable to me. If you wanted to reduce costs you could perhaps ask for a Cayo instead?

the Izalco max zero I can find on the net as a complete bike is £7,699 retail but yet a frame/fork for only £715 is this correct

The £7000 bike will have top of the line groupset and wheels, which don't come cheap. An Ultegra version with basic wheels would be half that.

It's a light frame and sounds like a very fair price for another Focus frame.

I agree thats a good price for a high spec frame and if its broken due to your neglect (no offence) then very commendable from Focus

The flip side of course is why exactly wont they take responsibility for a manufacturing fault?

Can you post a link to the same frame for £715? I can't get 6k of kit to add up without some stupid 4K wheels. And then some. Only 1.7k for DA Di2 GS so only 3.5/4 with di2 and fulcrum 1 wheels. Frame must be more?
