OP - You have an amazing car - went over to Neil's on Saturday to discuss my engine build - turned up after a spirited ride on my RSV4 and kind of lost interest in cars......
And then he started your ST up!

k! - if you don't get a trouser tent collecting that - you probably have reached a stage in life where you need those blue pills to perform at all! Seriously a fabulous car - there just simply are not many better sounds than the flat six on high butterflies with spirited cams - i salute you - you are a very lucky boy!

Drove it home, didn't miss a beat. Still tight as new Mahler Pistons fitted so needed to be careful, but proper event. Need to get it to Chris for Geo. hope to see you at Groes in June with F and the gang

Thanks Ross, long journey this one and I've learnt a few big and expensive lessons. The body work was always superb, but it's now where it should be mechanically too....forget the blue pills, need some pills to erase the memory of the price of the fuel pump And then he started your ST up!

Did you see Dooms Brumos ?. Having spare engine fitted yesterday for Spa Classic, running 320hp as 270hp out of original not competitive
Think you'd still have me on the RSV4 though

Your car is much more tractable than the martini 2.8 rsr at Neil's - i think the combo of your cams and lots of work on mfi setting it up for torque has resulted in a car which on events must be a much more straightforward proposition to drive. Anyway your's is not exactly pedestrian is it?! - and without all the body adornments it is a purist's dream. Never been in WTDOOM's car - but as a real 2.8 rsr it's fab that it get's used properly and he clearly doesn't spend all day discussing whether the front spoiler has original paint etc...proper custodian of a special car. Here's an on-board video of it running at Silverstone last year which i am sure he won't mind others seeing - ON-BOARD 911 2.8 rsr video here
Neil is finishing the rebuild of the engine in my 964 RS - and then at the end of summer we are planning a trip to Germany to see what it will pull in top....I am undecided whether to keep it when finished or sell it and put the money towards an early 911 build with high butterfly set up etc & the full catastrophe - i know it would be financially painful - but listening to the sound of yours and WTdoom's exotica...well the brain goes out the window
Yes RSV4 is barking - runs race ecu and Austin Racing exhaust - problem is every time you take it out on the road you anxiously check your post the following week for evidence that you have been spotted opening the taps...

Chris has got the ST for a set up on 24th. He sorted DG's RS last year, unbelievable transformation. I've had it since 09, felt like a different car entirely, so tactile and nimble, pulls like a train too at 230BHP. The ST is just a brute, far lighter at 917kg wet with 251hp but a proper handful on Michelin TB's with 270 rears at 26psi cold.
Totally different drive to RS, need to keep rpm band right up, as less low end torque than 2.7, and it just screams away.
Spoke to Steve Winter at CLM 14, he was racing the orange ST, then the Beast came up and it was a no brainer. The involvement as you say, cannot be surpassed IMV.
Love your video, they can keep the new stuff, that's what it's all about. Thanks for sharing.

Would love to come but don't have a car at the moment (I did just buy another bike though) plus decided to go back to work and starting new job on 1st June so not sure I could get away. Have fun and take some pictures/footage if you can as I would have loved to see the ST.
