PPM Scheduling Software
Discussion
Hi Guys,
We have multiple sites which have maintenance contracts assigned to them and pick up multiple service visits for items of kit such as HVAC, BMS, Boilers, CCTV, Intruder alarms etc and each has a different service intervals.
I was wondering if any one uses a scheduling app/software for this which is easy to use, graphical and ideally has a client log in platform to log any additional works, see status of open items and service visits etc?
Thanks in advance
Dafydd

maximo is a slow cumbersome pile of crap!
I spent 3 years fighting with it. At its worst it would take 20-30mins to log a simple job it was that slow.
I ended up automating my interactions with it using sikuli.
it still took between 10-30 mins to log the job, but i could sit spinning in my chair doing fk all instead of click wait click wait click wait zzzzzz
the managers were a joke too as they would endlessly spend their time manipulating the figures on there to lie their way into making clients believe that they had met the SLA's.
I did plan to write my own multithreaded frontend using python and selinium ( as i did not have access to the api to interact directly ), but decided that interserve did'nt deserve to have me doing free software development for them so i left.
overall, as a call centre chimp - maximo = crap!

Sounds badly implemented, and possibly just an issue with indexes. Either way its going to be your database that's slow, not Maximo.I spent 3 years fighting with it. At its worst it would take 20-30mins to log a simple job it was that slow.

I've adminsitered a Call Centre with Maximo taking 30k calls pcm, and generating a further 30k frequency based jobs pcm. No performance issues at all. That was covering 1000 sites across multiple clients with various interfaces to other systems.

To be honest that wouldent surprise me with interserve. As a lowly grunt I couldent get any info on what was causing the slowdown or a breakdown of any symptoms.I've adminsitered a Call Centre with Maximo taking 30k calls pcm, and generating a further 30k frequency based jobs pcm. Just a "shutup and get back in your box" .. ahh well. I have no love for it due to my experiences with it. Maybe the other one you mentioned is better

I do know they plan to migrate all their systems to the "cloud" in the near future.. probbably ec2 or something. Maybe it will improve then.

Afternoon,
I don't have a product as such, but my company has provided many bespoke systems in the FM industry and one in particular in the area of PPM. My profile has my email address, you are welcome to get in touch for a chat to discuss what we might be able to do, or to help you with other offerings you may be looking at.
