Inner wheel arches
Discussion
Look what I've just found in the shed
there was a post a little while ago about these and, if I recall correctly, a little confusion over different types?
These are I believe what were fitted to the body tub on early cars with nothing fitted to the bonnet. When fitted they reach round to cover the top of the tyre, (about 12 o'clock on the wheel).

Later cars had a smaller piece on the body and big "inner wings" attached to the bonnet.
Are these early ones "hard to find"?
I know Steve, greyhulk, is missing his o/s but before the pair get split up would anyone be interested in borrowing them to take moulds/make copies?

Hi Mike, if nobody is interested in the pair then I would be interested in the offside one. I think, if you look at it, the moulding is distorted and the inner flange isnt at 90 degrees to the top section. I have yet to see an S1 with the moulding right. I was considering using one, cutting it and making it fit correctly: the same angle and width as the LH one, and correct tyre clearance, then moulding from it.

Neither of them are at 90 degrees, they are quite substantial mouldings but perhaps the under bonnet heat distorts them over the years (or perhaps they were wrong from day one)?As you can see it also needs a little repair work!
So, ideally it would be good if one of you guys who want one could make one (or two) using this as a mould or find someone who'd like the challenge of rectifying the "issues" and making replacements?
Maybe the guy you bought your later model one from Steve, was it Fibreon?
PS lovin' the skulls

ive never had the drivers side arch in my 'S' so i dont know what the issues are with the original mould?OR we could all just get skull ones, maybe wire them up too
