We made pretty good dairy free ones today, soy milk and ice cream blitzed up with fresh strawberries and a squeeze of lime juice. We put a spoonful of strawberry nesquik powder in as well to sweeten it up a bit. They were pretty tasty.

My local American Diner makes THE best milkshakes, the rest of the food is pretty middle of the road, but the Shakes are incredible.

This is pretty much what they do - I've seen them make them loads of times.

Pretty much the best quality Ice Cream, full fat milk and chocolate syrup (or other, depending on your fancy) + malt. Its the magic ingredient.

I suppose in the real world if you couldn't get malt powder, you can buy litre cartons of Mars Milk now, that'd cover the milk and the malt together for a similar effect.

After the kids have gone to bed, you can then progress onto the Hardshakes, I had the "Harlem Hardshake" at Bread St Kitchen not so long ago.

Bacardi 8 rum, Jägermeister, salted caramel, vanilla ice cream and milk.

Hellishly good.

This makes great milkshakes. Just use milk, or blend ice good quality vanilla ice cream.

Half a tub of Vanilla Haagen Dazs (or equal amount of any other decent ice cream - i measure in tubs)
150m of Whole Milk - Jersey is even better.
Half a packet of Oreo Cookies.
Three heaped teaspoons of Horlicks of equivalent. This makes ALL the difference and gives you the 'malt'.

For strawberry use strawberry ice cream - add handful of fresh strawberries - drop the horlicks.

Or Vanilla with two heaped tablespoons of Peanut Butter and a banana.

They key is to end up with something really thick - you only want enough milk to make the ice cream drinkable.

Basically this is all you need. I'd probably use cocoa powder instead of Nesquik.
