I'm looking for a 997.2 Turbo PDK or possibly a Turbo S but can't currently find one I like.

I see there is a manual 997.2 for sale which I know is pretty rare. It's been for sale for a while. I know gen 1 manuals are quite sought after (I'd consider one of those too) but are the gen 2 manuals not as good??

Apparently they are better, I'd say, 'more modern' for a few upgrades, better PCM too

I have a manual gen1 and often read on here the gen2 is much improved... But so is a 991, etc etc,

It's all about budget and what colour/spec you want I suppose

Personally I don't regret not waiting for my budget to afford a gen2 but I would personally prefer the better PCM smile

Same gearbox as far as I'm aware, it's just that the PDK first became available on the Gen2 (Gen 1 got tip slusher) is so very very good, most speced them, and the S was only ever fitted with PDK.

Did anyone on here buy the £63k red manual 997.1 Turbo that was on the market last week? Great looking car with only 18k miles.

911 Virgin have just listed a 997.2 Turbo for sale that originally was optioned up to £150,000!!!

Provided you like brown leather as there could be a lot of it...

Great guys to do business with.

I don't think it has the Mezger engine though? which may mean something or nothing moving forward, I have heard
that the Gen 2 manual with an exhaust and a tune is one of the fastest road cars you can buy.

997.2 turbo and gt3 iirc keeps the mezger engine but taken to 3.8. The last hurrah is 4.0RS frown

Edit: there is confusion on 997.2 turbo - PH says not but some cars mags/site say yes - there will be someone along in a minute to confirm with Porsche evidence!

No the 997.1 turbo has Mezger, 997.2 turbo has the new cheaper DFI

And a PDK turbo would be quicker than a manual surely

Evidence from Porsche please - I think the 997.2 turbo is the 9A1 engine strengthened and with Dfi for the fuel economy

You are both right, it has the 9A1 DFi engine.
