WESTFIELD HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, first time on here so here goes. I'm looking at buying a factory built Westfield Se widebody that has sat for 10 years or so under a cover on a driveway, it has a Ford 1600cc engine and was built in 1996 by Westfield. I would like to get people's ideas on how much it would cost me to renew all of the items that would have perished over time such as the brake system, cooling system etc. I still need to find out if the engine cranks over. The british racing green paintwork is in good condition as are the original wheels, I just need to know of this car is worth my time and money, so if anyone is in the know and has experience with Westfield's then please pass on your knowledge, thank you

Whether it's worth buying over one that is already in good fettle will just be down to how much money you're saving so hard to pass judgement. The good news is that nearly everything is cheap and easy. A lot of parts are Ford or other easily bought stuff. Rubber stuff tends to suffer most by standing. So cooling system is a good bet, suspension bushes, exhaust hangers, engine mounts etc. Brake lines might be fine though probably worth replacing the flexi lines to be on the safe side.
Different schools of thought on turning the engine over but I've followed the route of taking plugs out, squirt some oil into the cylinders and turn it over on the starter motor. Would then think about replacing all fluids inc gearbox and diff oil. None of this stuff is difficult that I can think of. They're very simple cars with good access to most stuff and a good support community to help out with advice and parts.
Presume this is a CVH engine?
Are you looking for a cost of parts (and you are doing all the work) or labour too?
At the end it'll probably have cost more than its market value (ie cheaper just to buy a good one)

I'm going to have a second look this week sometime with my mechanic so I'll have to check the chassis, I'm totally new to this hence the questions it just seemed to be a good deal as it sat, the seller wants about 1700 for it and I'm thinking of I speak to 2k on it I've got a 5-6k car for a little less than 4k, thanks for your help!

That does sound very reasonable. At that price, focus on the chassis (you really need to be underneath it) and condition of the GRP. It's highly unlikely that anything else could make it uneconomical IMO. Thanks for the help, since I saw it on Saturday I've not stopped thinking about it haha, I'm sure all the Westy owners on here know what this excitement feels like, I know the roof is still brand new in the box, never used, the owner used to drive it up to Westfield in Dudley for the service every year so I know own it's been taken care of. How has he Westfield market been over the past year or so? This is literally my first experience with a westfield so I've never thought to look, thanks again

Couldn't sleep before I bought my first. Couldn't sleep after I bought it either come to think of it. They're pretty exciting! You might find the hood hasn't faired too well if it's been folded in a box for 20 years but I always hated the hoods anyway. Nightmare to put on and do little to stop you getting soaked if the road is very wet. Aeroscreen, helmet and appropriate clothing is the only way to travel! That's news to me. I think you'll struggle to find any common parts.
I just think the original poster will get better information from Westfield owners who are familiar with the cars.

That is almost 30 years ago and since then both cars have evolved in their own ways - whilst keeping close to the principle of what the cars are supposed to encapsulate.
I like all Seven inspired type cars.
