Which CV Joints please?

The original joints have huge amounts of play in them after giving the turbo some welly. I've contacted Powers but they want to sell me new complete 'uprated' driveshafts (£500 each 
).
Racetech sell driveshafts for £479+vat which I assume are standard. They also sell the CV joints for £80+vat each, again standard (?).
Recommended to try Prolinx who have standard (£70), race (£110) or ultimate race (£210) each plus vat.
Looking for any help/recommendations for a GKN diff, 108mm joints and able to take 355bhp and 480 ft/lbs at the wheels.

I have just changed mine for the same reason (wallet already on a diet) to Shaftec ones, at £30.52 each.
Got mine from Allwoods, my local East Midlands autospares indie.
Jury out on how good they are, but they have just survived a 300 mile drive including a track day without a murmur.
You need the 40 x 108 28 spline Sierra Cosworth ones, and I can get you the Shaftec part number if you want it.
IIRC the GKN number is 301174.
The boots and bolts that came with them were useless, but the joints seem fine.
But my car is only 315 bhp, 353 torques.
ETA mine is a later diff - BTR - don't know if this makes a diff-erence?

Thanks A. The part number is 301174 as you remember. I will ring Prolinx for their opinion on the power output and see what they say. I can get cheap ones from my local driveshaft company but probably made in China. Don't want dealer prices either...

Shaftec manufacture their own I believe, but I don't know where. The re-manufacture most, but for some reason these were freshly made. I will get Bailcast Duraboots (DBC400) for long life.

Spoken to Prolinx and no hard sell which was refreshing. If I only use the car on the road in normal conditions then their heavy duty will be fine. As I tend to press the loud pedal when an Audi cuts me up I opted for the next grade up, the race version. Not cheap at £109 each but I want a fit and forget plan and not have to worry when next in John O' Groats. The comments in Gary's link made my mind up so wallet getting thinner as we speak.
