had my 98 4.2 for 2 yrs now. seems ive been very
lucky as have spent very little on it apart from
normal service costs and starter motor. absolutely
love it, but all this talk on here of falling
prices, cars constantly going bang and parts
now getting dificult to get, ime thinking perhaps
i should sell the cerb and buy a 996 porker to
be on the safe side. anyone done this and regretted
it??

You will miss the cerbera like hell. There is nothing out there on this side of the cost-of-ownership market that will fill the appetite once you lose her.

Unless you're switching to a GT3, Lambo... I wouldnt recommend getting rid of her, unless you want to upgrade to a newer 4.5 Red-Rose with around 18k on the clock? I'd recommend that anyday!

All these 'engine going bang' stories are a tad scary though. But, its the risk you take i suppose, and could be said about any high performance car

Edited to day - and listen to Graham - he talks sense

TRUE EDDIE. i can just see you lot taking the
p**s and goose stepping round the car park. really
dont want to sell it. just had a bit of a panic attack
i suppose. i ought to keep it till i've got something
to moan about. realy dont fancy anything else as
every thing i look at seems boring after a cerb.
suppose it wouldnt be very bright to sell a car
because you love it and its been reliable..so far!!!
as with all tvr owners, i will just have to be
BRAVE. :irked

Lets think about it for a while..you have a car you love thats given you no real problems & you think you might change it for something you're not sure you really want....sounds fair.

And I wonder how much you'll enjoy the owners club meets?

See you Sunday??
