My fuel pump has ceased to function. First of all I wishI could get my lacerated hands on the fiend who put the pump in it's impossibly inaccessible location!
The pump I have removed is a Bosch 0 580 464 040. However, on the TVR alternative parts list it gives Bosch 580254911 or Lucas FDB702. I would guess my old pump is original by the way the clamp studs were seized.
Any thoughts out there.

If you search those Bosch numbers on Ebay they come up with two very similar looking pumpsscratchchin

Bosch 0580464040

Bosch 0580254911

If yours looks original and has worked for the last 24 years I think I know what number I'd stick with (forget the Lucas one)

Thanks, I am just about to ring my local motor factor. Would like to stay original as do not really want to start changing wiring connectors.

All...
As my motoring 'hobby' includes ANother marque, which also uses the 2.9efi setup in one of their models.
I was once asked, what is the fuel pump from (its an in-tank unit), as the owner couldn't find anything from his motor factors based on the Bosch numbers.... I did the obvious (to me anyway) & contacted Bosch !
They informed me it was for Merkur XR4i, I said you mean Sierra, they said arrrr. Well it is the same only the Merkur parts carry US licenses whereas the UK version doesn't. Oh, & that part is obsolete anyway, but the good news is that we have one that will replace it.

So just maybe, this could be similar with the S3 pump. In so much as its not just from another car, but it is also a pump that was never sold in the UK... Maybe worth a call to Bosch ?

One of these will make fuel pump acees easier.

As long as the replacement pump matches or is slightly above the flow rate of the original then it's just the connections you need to match up.

When mine was changed up it Louth I think the pump the sourced was for a Granada 2.9 efi.
