Can anyone help?

The PA 2000 alarm system fitted to a 1995 993 Turbo is faulty and has immobilsed the cars electronics. I'm stuck big time!!!!

When I purchased the car I wasn't given the Red Master Key (I had no idea one was needed).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks.

When I bought by 993 Turbo it only had one alarm fob. I contacted Hamilton & Palmer and they sold me a new control board, key fob plus red key fob, the cost was about £80. An alarm installer put it in for me and matched my original fob to the new frequency. My alarm on a 1998 car was a PA1000, I understand that the difference between that and the PA2000 is that the 2000 has self closure of the windows.

Mark - the 993 workshop manual has a few pages on how to tune in the remote transmitters and how to disable the immobiliser. Sounds like a pain in the backside, essentially entering numbers by turning the ignition on/off to communicate with the brain, but might solve your problem or at least let you start the car so that you can drive it to a specialist.

If you want the relevant pages from the PDF then give me an email address to send them to. Best of luck.

Many thanks for your advice.

I called Edward Atkinson at Hamilton Palmer in Kent. They specialise in alarm systems and have in-depth experience of Porsche alarms. Edward was very, very helpful. He advised that he could re-code the PA 1000 alarm and provide a new master key, subject to supplying the correct paperwork. All at a very reasonable price.

Thanks again.
