I've got an exam this Friday from 9.30-12.30. I get pretty anxious before exams so struggle to eat before them. Last exam I had was a 2 hour one and I managed to eat half a cereal bar and a banana...but before the end I was getting stomach cramps and trying to stifle a rumbling tummy!

I am bought a small pack of raisins and nuts today and it kept my hunger away for about 2 hours alone, so would I be best grazing on as much of this stuff as I can before going in?

Any help appreciated.

I find porridge keeps me full for a while.

Can you order a pizza during the exam?

You only have to last until 12:30pm. Maybe have a late supper before you go to bed if you can't eat in the morning.

Don't you have a proper breakfast?

If you struggle to eat, you want something reasonably bland and high in calories.

Something like porridge with full fat milk would be good.

This with perhaps a few raisins and some honey.

100g of porridge with 330ml of full fat milk keeps hunger at bay for me for hours.

Absolutely chuck some other stuff in, if he is able to. If you don't like milk, try it with boiling water and lots of peanut butter (if you like peanut butter).

I have 100g of porridge with 500ml full fat milk and 25g protein powder (c.800kcal), and it keeps me full for a pretty long time.

He's trying to get through a 3 hour exam exam, not cross the Antarctic on a single meal!

Can you take something milkshake esque into the exam, or just water?

We discussed this on another thread the other day, but my breakfast at 7am is 35g porridge, handful of blueberries and some mixed nuts with enough skimmed or almond milk to soak the porridge. 2.5 mins in microwave, berries/nuts lobbed in, lunch around 12 by which time I am hungry - especially if I've cycled the 15.25km to work....

I'm no racing-snake at 105kg.

100g of porridge would floor me!

Really? I could easily have double or even triple my normal 100g in one sitting!

I am a big fat fatty though.

Well, I managed to get through it but I left with 0.5 hours to go, mostly because I had run of answers but partly because I was stifling a novelty sized stomach rumble.

I will try the porridge though, as it's bloody annoying. Twelve years as a mechanic, skipping breakfast but eating a large quantity of food at about 10.30 has probably caused it.
