So our tenants have moved out at the end of their tennancy and left a bunch of rubbish including an old car sat on the driveway (on jacks with just one wheel on).

The property was rented to a company who had some workers staying there so we don't actually know who the registered keeper is, however were in contact with one of the people staying there who said they were going to scrap the car - which hasn't happened.

We can no longer get any response from the company or chap that was speaking to us.

What are our options - how do we go about dealing with this?

Thanks in advance.

Exact same thing happened to me. After asking him 3 times to move it I hooked a tow rope to it and dragged it into the street and phoned the police saying he'd left it blocking the road and pavement. They came and towed it away and then did him for no insurance. Brilliant.

Use their deposit to pay for removal of the car.

Remove final wheel.

Line up many red bull cans on their side in a line pointing towards the road.

Drop car.

There are plenty of do as you likeys that will take it away without a V5. Just ask at a local garage for a number.

Out of interest, what is it?

Also, I believe you are perfectly within your rights to request the registered keeper's information from the DVLA. The "good reasons" list on the government info includes "tracing the owner of an abandoned vehicle" and "tracing the owner of a vehicle illegally parked on private land".
