Sp6 cooling fan overide switch.?
Discussion
Hi,
I took the stereo out of my car, so have a blanking plate that contains a switch for the fans, one for the electric power steering and the oil temperature gauge.
I wired a direct feed from the battery to four relays I installed near the old power steering resivoir. I use the original TVR wiring for both fans, and high and low beam to energise the relays. The direct feed is then switched to the lights and fans. I think I made up heavier wiring to the headlights too.
The fan switch on the dash runs both fans, but they still switch on automatically too.

actually, if you wanted to control the fans from the dashboard, the main wiring harness passes beneath the stereo.
All you need to do is intercept two wires and pull those to earth to activate the relays already in the fusebox. You Can choose to intercept them at two places, either at the heater control/main ECU in the passenger footwell or you could splice in to the loom that runs from the back of the car.
Both wires are the same colour and are only about 0.75 csa, GREEN/PINK. You could then have a very very small push to make switch to activate them and save a lot of bother, energising the relay contacts will only take about 500ma (250ma each) so you could have a very low profile switch and install it very inconspicuously. They are the only 2 green/pink wires in the car so there is no fear of getting the wrong ones!
Saves a lot of mucking around, if you have problems, give me a shout but in all it should take you about 30 minutes to intercept and splice additional wires in!
Cheers

You could use something like
http://www.rapidonline.com/nkk-switches-m2032ss4w0...
and mount it near the other silver switch, then you could have 1 fan or both fans as necessary.
Or even

worlds your oyster really...
