On Sunday I have the enviable task of walloping a very sqidgy confection into someone's face (requirement of home movie script).

I'd say it needs to be about 8" diameter, and 2" deep, with a base that I can hold to administer but which breaks up on impact, and maybe squirty cream on top. It then needs to start to fall off as the victim starts talking.

Can anyone suggest how to make it please, or what to start from?

Get a ready made sponge flan base from any supermarket, less than a quid, real whipped cream is easy enough to prepare.

Think the standard movie prop is usually shaving foam for the filling

THanks, I'll look for a ready-made sponge flan base (no idea they existed). I think a layer of custard might help too....

Nope - bad for the eyes and leaves a slip hazard on the floor.

This is the sort of stuff you need : http://messysupplies.com/index.php?route=product/p...

(or maybe just make up some Bird's custard and aerate it a bit).

I have no idea how or why this exists, but it does. It appears that its some kind of fetish, smushing.

Interesting.

Still, it does give a fairly comprehensive guide on the relevant mediums used and their benefits/shortcomings.

yeah, don't do this.

A 2 week run of Bugsy Malone at medical school taught me that is blimmin' painful in the eyes, dries the skin out terribly and is a pig to clear up after.

I then went into orthopaedic surgery, where my theatre contains significantly more blood and I don't find pain is an issue at all.

And I give a fair bit out...

Don't use custard, it will stop the flan base falling apart, look up custard tech,
supermarket ones are good as they are quite dry so should absorb moisture and fall apart on q
