After having owned my Griffith 500 for around 16 years (not a bad innings), I am making the move to S6-land and am picking up my Tamora on Saturday. It's not a rash decision, having considered it for a few years, but having found a lovely example I'm making the change. It's going to be tough giving up the Griff, having spent a lot of time and money on making it look great but I just wanted something just that little bit more modern. Just got to find a buyer for it now.

Going for this:

Hopefully the weather's going to be decent on Saturday for the 3 hour drive. Fingers crossed. driving

I love the Griff but the Tamora and T350,s do handle so much better and feel more planted , I have Griff and a T350, the biggest thing you will miss is the torque of the Griff but that can be sorted put a 4.3 or 4.5 in wink I did yes and so much better, you just need to convince the wife wink

Amazingly she's been very receptive during this process; I wasn't going to see the Tamora as it was more than I was going to pay but she saw it and convinced me to take a look. Well, I didn't need telling twice wink Even the kids were happy; they had a few days by the sea and got to have ice-cream and donkey rides. Everyone's a winner.

Tam does look really nice, looks like you have chosen a good one. I just hope you do not regret getting rid of the Griff, 16 years is a long time!

Most people don't look back after making the change but my worry has always been most people don't have the 500 with the epic torque to miss.

I know what you mean, Matthew; I am a little worried that my driving style will turn out to be more suited to the V8 and that it will be too late once (if) I come to this decision. That said, I'm sure I'll be converted quickly...

You should negociate some 'overlap' time to make sure you've made the right choice. Alternatively, you can 'loan' me you Griff as I have a big V8 itch.

I think most of it is in the mind. The Tam is a much better car than the Griff. The 3.6 speed six is supposed to be a cracking engine as well, one that actually makes you drive the car properly rather than lazy Griff 500, i'll leave it in 3rd gear driving. With that speed six howling and the vastly improved dynamics I am sure you will be sold.

I would be very interested to see how you get on. I keep getting the T350 itch.

T350 with a Powers 4.5 more torque than a Griff wink and same lazy style of driving it suits me yes you know you need one Matt

I've not got it yet and now you're making me think of upgrades. Hummm, wonder how much I'd get for my 3.6 against a 4.5... biglaugh
