I'd like to find the surname of a person I recently had a transaction with outside of ebay. The item turns out to be substantially different than as described. I understand that, even though their local council has confirmed they reside at an address (which was provided to their local council by me) that they won't/can't supply the surname.

Advice has been to send a recorded letter to them to outline the issues. I have first name, mobile number, ebay profile, home address but no surname.

Rather than making the journey to their local library to look at the register, is there any other way of finding out the surname please?

coming from a different angle you could try searching companies house for the postcode as their could be a business registered to that address

edit: searched my own and found something very interesting, to me at least!

Already tried that Dad, thanks but haven't got enough info to get a result.

And it appears that 192.com isn't required because - as recommended I just googled his first name and address and got a hit! He's listed with companies house as director of a ltd co.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
