driving your baby in the snow
Discussion
Are you doing it?
How do you cope in the freezing conditions?
I've taken to dialling a cab on the worst mornings.
Spoke to a dealer today re other stuff, who said they have had 2 cancellations this week from owners who've just t
tted their P&J.
Thoughts?
[and apologies if this has been on other threads]
Run the risk or not worth it?

Mine goes every day to work, come what may - no trouble at all. Tivs only become worse than other cars if you feed more power to the wheels, so drive gently and you should be fine.
TVR tyres are no more slippery than other cars' tyres. I've had the odd arse out moment around mini roundabouts, but it's all good fun.
At end of day though, if you don't feel secure, leave your P&J at home - I just don't feel the same driving anything else!

I've been driving mine in rain sun and snow, and so long as you're careful with the loud pedal, its really no different to driving any other car.
Actually, the difference is that you feel a hell of a lot more of what the car/road is doing than in a eurobox, so you don't feel so safe. Which makes things safer.
I think.

TVRs have more grip in the dry than other cars, but far less in the wet. In snow or ice it's almost comical there's so little grip.
I enjoy the challenge of getting to work in the snow, but luckily I can make it on main roads without any real hills. I still have to work a lot harder at it than the people around me. In other situations it just wouldn't be worth considering.

TVR and anything wet/icey do not go! too light, tyres are too stiff, and the lack of weight also increases the time it takes for the tyres to heat up - all in all, a bad idea... unless you got a burnout patch on your driveway, will help a little... but NOT for snow... cant believe others will risk it... not to mention the salt and crap they put on the roads, that stuff eats your chassis away... look underneath, everything exposed...

Some of us use our cars as intended rather than worrying about every little thing
Some of us save a lot of dosh and headaches...! and some of us just use the other car when the weathers bad, my TVR is a diamond to me, its not the cost, its the respect I have for things that need better care and attention... plus in the wet you got a higher chance of some other pussy sliding into you! Which to be honest is the main reason I didnt like hitting the roads in the wet/ice when she was here...
and when she returns, I think even in the dry I'd be a little worried to take her out
