991 GT 3 RS. They all do that Sir ?
Discussion
Before I talk to my OPC tomorrow has anyone experienced this. Drove mine in fairly heavy rain for the first time on a motorway run, came off the motorway and drove for about a mile then into a car park, had to use the lift to get over a speed bump. Swung round in the car park to park and had clouds of steam come out from the front !! By the time I had parked up it had stopped , water temp etc was ok . Drove back later in the dry and all was fine ...... Any thoughts ?

Don't bother going to OPC, when rain falls due to the vents at the front water runs onto the rads and steam will appear especially if the engine gets to the hotter temp range.
All is good!!
+1 all the GT cars with front vents do this - 997, GT4, etcAll is good!!

Thanks for the replies. My 6.2 GT 3 never did this , but if that's what they do sir then I won't look so embarrassed next time ??
However, I find the 996 RS does not as the front vents do not have an area for water to collect....in a 996.2 GT3 without the front vent mod you won't get this at all...if it happens then call the OPC!

The cooling air through the side radiators is vented through the wheel arch, the exits to the rads is in front of the front wheels, so if you go backwards, water can splash into the difusor behind the rads leading to steam venting out of the arches or the top vent - especially at certain steering angles. Nothing to worry about.
