Might be a stupid question but is it normal for the gear stick to feel very loose, both in neutral and in gear the lever moves around. Reminds me of a very old transit van.
There a bunch of bushes I think in 4 places along the gear shift mechanism, change them all, not very expensive if you do your self and will make a big difference.
