New 911 RSR to be mid engined

Looks like Porsche couldn't or didn't want to wait until the 960 is out. That should solve some of the rear tyre wear issues they've had with the 911 RSR.

Who knows, maybe this change will make it into production in the future? Making the Weissach GT 911s mid engined would add some much needed differentiation into the lineup and those buyers would be the most willing to lose the rear seats.

They finally came round to the idea that mid-engined is better. Who knew!?

So, basically, they are just turning the engine/gearbox around 180 degs so that the gearbox is at the back. This obviously shifts a lot of the weight forward and effectively makes it mid-engine. Like a Cayster then?

Of course, they cant do this on the road car without removing the rear seats.
